Soul Sucking

The Purpose of Life: To be who You were created to be

We are made uniquely divine in our own special symphony of characteristics. There is no one else like you, and yet this is discounted by trying to be like others. Pathetically attempting to be who we think others will like. This way of life is to turn away from yourself, replacing it with an artificial you. Living in this way is shying away from your true self, and even so, time continues on whether you are genuine or artificial.

The aspects of your life that comprise who you are being traded for the you that is easy to be, sucks your soul. You are left with an ever-depleting life in which you are not letting your soul shine.

The awareness for soul-sucking is on the rise in the modern world. How could it not! Our souls are sucked by screens and technology which are ever invasive. The messages of most of the new movies, media, and music share this awareness. The protagonists are nature, heroes following their nature, and the protection of freedom. The antagonists are technology, structure, and the restrictions of freedom. How many times must you watch it before you take action in your own life?

Jobs and Careers are where we spend most of our waking hours. There is not much work that feeds people's souls, instead, most are soul suckers. Most work is without creativity or the flexibility necessary for our soul to shine.

My peers took our first steps in becoming independent, getting jobs, homes, pets, and a long list of other responsibilities. Settling for the adulthood that has been laid before them. Dropping their anchor in waters that does not satisfy them.

I fell into a life that sucked my soul, I was working my first job. The money that I saved up was going to be used for me to rent my own place. My time was consumed between work, school, and a measly social life. I would wake up in the frighteningly common groundhog day loop. Each day looked like the last and presented a mundane list of tasks without variation from those of the day before.

Aware that I was living a life that I was not proud of and without hope in sight I decided to make a change. I used the money that would have anchored me in this life to leave it all behind. I spent 6 months on the road traveling the United States where every day was new. Every day was a new place, new people, new sights, and a new life.

In this way of life, there was no one to hold me to my old ways. No boss to answer to, or schedule to follow. I had reclaimed the creativity and flexibility to be myself. My soul began to shine and I unraveled who I was created to be.

I came back confident in who I was, with a new outlook on life, and the determination of making a life that was different from the life that everyone in my environment was living. I looked at my peers and those in my environment seeing this same survival lifestyle had not ceased.

I want to help others welcome a new lifestyle of thriving as their soul is expressed. Where suppression becomes expression, surviving becomes thriving, and doing becomes being. We are letting life happen to us, accepting the role of the victim. We are meant to happen to life, taking on the role of a hero.

The best way that I could help others achieve this was to do it for myself. Once I have made a life that I thrive in I become the example for others that it is possible. For it is far easier to follow than it is to lead. Once it can be seen with your own eyes, you are willing to believe in it, creating a thriving life.

Failure can only occur when you give up, otherwise, you remain trying. Being the person that you created to be should never be given up on.

Let go of whatever doesn't serve you

If they can’t see you they don’t deserve you

No one can fill you up the way you can

I hope that you live a life that you are proud of. If you find that you are not then I hope that you have the strength to start all over again.
