Why I Travel
Traveling is a way for me to be in the happening places of this world. I have spent a long time in a corner of the world where little happens. I am now ready for the world to know my names.
I have a lengthy list of Quests that I want to do while I live, in order to check these items I must be in the locations where I am capable of my desired experience.
My previous travels were anchored to my hometown. I would go on a trip and then return home. It didn’t feel like I was moving forward, but instead like I was going in circles. Alaska is my opportunity to break this cycle. It is clear that leaving my hometown will be a source of tremendous personal growth. I am ready to fly from my hometown nest to gaze upon more of this world.
This world is full of Settlers: people that have found one place to call home where they can take on an overwhelming number of responsibilities that anchor them down. Laying down roots is not a bad thing but that is not yet my place in this world.
While I am young and capable I will adventure!. Calling many places home. I will have the freedom of a few responsibilities, in this way I am not anchored but instead light enough to fly.
Being in a new environment is a great opportunity to discover more of myself. The road has been my greatest mentor, bringing me to the place where more of me exists.
