Louisiana Stops
Locals Lake
We stopped at a beautiful lake in Louisiana that had campsites right on the water. It was a very popular lake, with fisherman on the docks, boats launching, and Nature lovers coming to take it all in. We fished along side some southern talking fisherman, meeting a man called Horace who was also from California. I write more about Horace in the interesting people part of this road trip. This was a very powerful introduction to the South, and their way of life as it differs greatly from any I was used to.
New Orleans
At this point we were not too jazzed about another big city, but it is the city of Jazz! We got ourselves a hotel in the city and prepared to explore the night life. The city was full of art and so much creative energy. It seemed every blank wall was looked at as a canvas and every median divide a place for a sculpture. During our outing all we needed to do was listen and that was the direction to go, there were bands all over the streets, playing groovy music to bust a move to.
New Orleans Jazz
All that is needed is your ears to guide your way. The city is packed full of music, art, simply everything creative.
