College
Higher Education is a remarkable way to invest in yourself, learning anything under the sun. There is benefit around every corner and it ought to be taken advantage of no matter your age, ability, or any other qualification.
My Background
I am a Junior in college finishing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an online course load while I travel around the United States.
I began my freshman year of high school asking an academic counselor how to get into the best colleges. We laid out a plan both in and out of the classroom that would appeal to colleges. The plan morphed and changes as time went on as I found my unique value for colleges.
In my Senior Year of Highschool, I applied and took courses at my Community College which I stayed with to earn my Associates's degree. If money is a question this is the most impactful way to reduce the cost of college. I also was unsure of which degree was right for me, so I took this time to take many classes that explored my interests.
In my Junior Year of college, I was ready to apply to other colleges in order to work on my bachelor’s degree. I applied to CSU Chico, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, UC Merced, University Of The People (an out-of-state online college), and Verto Education(A study abroad college).
The pursuit of college is something I have sought out on my own and have not received much support. I learned the ropes on my own, much of which I would have liked to have someone tell me early on. I am writing my experience down and offering my support for anyone who could use a hand in college.
